"Playdate" with Mammy and Papa Marc

For Christmas my parents took the girls to see Peter Pan downtown.  They were very excited to get all fancy and go see the play.

When I dropped the girls off my mom gave them another present.  Coats and hats that she made herself!!!  So amazing and beautiful and the girls just adored them.

My pretty princessess

My mom is so talented and I am so thankful for all the things she makes for the girls.  I am also thankful for the relationship my kids have with my parents.  They are so lucky to have amazing grandparents.  I have a great pic of the four of them but couldn't figure out how to turn it :( if I can I will post later

Thank you Mammy and Papa Marc for our fancy day!

Bo and Beatrice

Since Lonnie and I have had dogs our entire relationship there was void once Brynn and Broadie were gone.  All Mallory kept asking for her birthday and Christmas was a dog.  Personally I think I could have had a break for a while because it was really hard on me losing Brynn and Broadie.

However seeing Mallory so sad I couldn't take it.  So Lonnie began researching.  I was convinced I wanted a boxer again because they are my favorite but then decided a small dog might be easier, lower maintenance, etc.  Long story short Lonnie convinced me to go the animal shelter with him.  All I can say is it was the saddest thing ever seeing all those dogs looking at me with sad eyes and I felt like such a dog snob since we have always gotten ours from breeders and paid a ton of money.

Our timing was perfect as these two puppies had just been brought in- brother and sister, found by a dumpster.  Poor babies were flea infested and abandoned.  The shelter didn't know what kind of dogs they were and could only guess their age about 7 weeks old.  I couldn't bare to separate them so we decided to adopt both.

Mallory came up with their names and I thought they were perfect: Beatrice is on the left in the picture above, Bo is on the right.

Seeing them cuddle made me feel good we kept them together

We searched and searched the internet to try and figure out what kind of dogs they are.  Bo's coloring is so unique and his hair is so soft.  Bea is petite and has totally different hair.  I started to wonder if they were actually related.

Bo

We finally took Bo and Bea to our vet and I learned something I never knew.  Dogs' eggs can fertilize 2-3 times.  So the vet said they have the same mother but different fathers.  They guessed that their mom is a Dachshund(wiener dog) and Beatrice's mom is maybe a straight-haired terrier while Bo's dad is a mut, in other words they have no idea on him!!

Just like Brynn and Broadie, Bo and Bea have very different personalities.  Bo is so calm, chill, laid back and she is a mess.  Very high maintenance, prissy, and likes to cry and chew on stuff.

See what I mean about Bo?  Looks pretty comfy!

So happy about our additions to the family

Good friends, good time

Since moving to our new house we have had a few get togethers and have had so much fun.  I had an entertaining hiatus and glad I have returned.  I wish I got pictures from our orginal one but there will be more!

We truly are blessed with the friends we have and are so lucky all of our children get along.  They all had so much fun playing together.

Mallory Turns 8!

Eight years ago on December 11th, 2004 I gave birth to a beautiful 8 lb, 6 oz baby girl, Mallory Ann Madison.  Today she is still beautiful, sweet, charming, intelligent, kind and an all around wonderful daughter.

Proud momma

One of my favorite memories of Mallory as a baby is her hair!  She was born with a ton, never lost any and it stuck straight up for about the first 6 months of her life.  People would stop me and as if I spiked it, really???

She still has a ton of hair today- Love it!

This year Mallory just wanted a few friends to spend the night for her birthday.  We celebrated with family on a different night and got her a cookie cake.

Happy Birthday Mallory.  We love you with all of our heart to the moon and back!

Ode To Brynn

This was a very difficult year for our family as far as our pets go.  As a lot of you know we said goodbye to Broadie in July.  Shortly after Halloween we had to say goodbye to Brynn as well.  She was 11 years old and brought so much joy to our lives

We got Brynn in 2001, a year after having Broadie and Broadie was not too happy about that.  Just like kids, their personalities were totally different.  Brynn was nuts!  She antagonized Broadie all of the time and constantly cracked us up.

I am pretty sure Brynn was convinced she was an actual person.  She made herself comfortable wherever she was and would actually "talk" to you if you got her riled up.  She also liked to chase and catch things her favorite being opossums.
