Water Day and Pre-K Graduation!!

I can't believe this school year is coming to a close. It seems each and every year goes by faster and faster. I also can't believe that Mallory will be going to Kindergarten next year. She has spent the past 2 1/2 years at the childcare here at the high school with me and it has been such an amazing experience for her. She has been able to be a part of so many unique and memorable experiences. Pep rallies, field trips, milking cows, Q&U weddings, easter egg hunts, weekly library trips, weekly stretch and grow, visits from Santa, best friends made, lunch with mom, rodeos, thanksgiving plays, the list goes on and on. I did leave off one of the events that Mallory considers a highlight and that is WATER DAY! At the end of each year they have one day in which they can wear flip flops to school, bring their suit and have some fun in the sun. Here are some of this year's good times. Mallory waiting to go down their home made slip and slide.

The high school students had the brilliant idea to spray PAM on the tarp and the kids which makes for some slippery slides.

Snow Cones are an added bonus.

WATER DAY 2010! YEAH!!

The day before water day Mallory got to participate in yet another production that the high school students helped put on and that was her Pre K graduation. The senior students that take ChildCare as a class have been with Mallory the past two years and worked with them the past few months to make their graduation a memorable one.

Mallory was very excited about graduating. When it was over we took her for a special afternoon with our family and went to La Madeline for lunch and saw Shrek 4. There are two videos of our principal handing her a "diploma" and then a part of the song Lean on Me that they performed. I am so excited that Morgan will begin as a Little Lander next year and get to experience the same things Mallory has. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend everyone!!

A first for everything...

This weekend marked a lot of firsts for our family. On Saturday Mallory had her first volleyball tournament. She has been playing in a tots program once a week and Saturday they had little games they played. She served underhand and over the net at least 5 times! Go Mal!! We hoped Saturday would be Morgan's first soccer game that she would actually play in(refused last week) but no luck. Who knew a 3 year old could infuriate someone so much. Soccer might have to wait until next season :) Saturday night Lonnie and I took Case to his first baseball game. We had awesome seats(thanks Dad) and even though the Astros lost, Berkman hit a home run and Case enjoyed it very much.

I thought this looked like I was super-imposed into the picture.

Our seats were so good that is the Astros owner leaning over behind us.

Go Astros!

Morgan was decked out before her soccer game - at least she looked the part!

Here is Case sitting in the high chair. He loves to sit here and watch us eat and just be a part of the fam. He doesn't know what he is missing yet.

Another cute picture of the girls

This weekend also marked the first time we have been to the pool!!! YEAH...summer is almost here. We went to my parent's house to celebrate my dad's bday which is today. Happy Birthday Dad- we love you soooo! Anyway we ate a great lunch and hung out in the pool. Case also decided to try out the water and once again was so good. He is such a content baby. I thought it might be too cold but he just chilled in his lobster float and enjoyed the rays. Apparently sun wears out babies too because he napped for about 4 hours after pool time.

Morgan loves Caser Pot

Daddy is a trooper in the pool and let's the girls jump all over and around him. Mommy is a wuss and needs the water to get a tad bit warmer!

Life is good!

Look Alikes

I have always thought that Case looked just like Morgan when he was born and he continues to remind me of her. I found the picture below of Morgan and compared the two....could be twins!! Same coloring, same hair, same cutie patooties :)

Happy Mother's Day Weekend

First off let me say Happy Mother's Day to all my mommy friends but more importantly my own mom. I am so lucky to have her as a part of my life as well as my children's. I am also blessed to have a second mom in my mother in law. I hope that my kids will grow up to think of me as a good mom and I hope that they are each blessed with a wonderful mother in law.

My Mother's Day weekend was a fabulous one. It all started on Friday when I got an email from Mallory's teacher that she wanted me to have lunch with her. In Mallory's class they earn tickets throughout each week for good behavior. On Fridays they can cash in their tickets for prizes. Each prize has a different value. Mallory usually likes to "buy" shoes off for the day or a happy meal. However, on Friday she chose to use her tix(15) I think to have me come to lunch with her. I was grinning from ear to ear. I will treasure these days when she wants to be with her momma!

Saturday morning Case and I went to Market Street for Stroller Fit. I got to see a lot of my other mommy friends and get in a good workout. We spent Saturday power washing and laundry until we went to church that evening. We participated in the Baby Dedication for Case which basically said we promise to raise him to have a relationship with Lord and to set a good example for him in his life. This was more for me but it was nice to do it. Before the service I told Lonnie that I bet the Pastor would comment on Case's hair. Sure enough he said something about it and tried to touch it acting like it hurt his hand. Too funny. In case you didn't know Case's hair is still sticking straight up! After the service we met my Dad, who has been a loner this week as my mom is out of town, for dinner and celebrated Mother's Day.

Here is Lonnie's attempt to take pictures with me and the kids. Not so easy with 3!!

Still trying....
About as good as it gets!! On Mother's Day I got red roses and the sweetest cards. Mallory had planned a secret with Dad to serve me breakfast in bed. I was able to sleep in(well 8:00 is like 11:00 at my house) and then Lonnie gave me pancakes and fruit. His pancakes were much better than mine so I told him he might be the one to cook those from now on! After that I pretty much stayed in my PJs until about 3:00. We then headed over to my in laws for some yummy steaks and potatoes and my mom in law gave me some more flowers and a bag of goodies for my feet :) The girls got to swim in the hot tub and then we headed home.

The girls at a birthday party.

As I laid in bed last night with Case passed out next to me and Lonnie and I about to drift off I could not help but be so thankful for the MANY blessings God has given me. My husband, my children, my family, my husband's family, my friends, etc...the list goes on. I could not think of a greater gift however than the one of being a mother. It truly has changed my life all for the better and I would not trade it for anything!!
